A Yang will be entering his 9th season as the head of the Edison Volleyball program. Named section 5AAA Coach of the Year for 2021, A Yang strives to continue empowering his players to achieve high levels of success on and off the court. In his tenure as the head coach, he has turned around a program that has achieved multiple school records and recognition.

Brett McNeal

Brett McNeal is a Certified Master Athletic Administrator and currently the Director of Athletics at Edison High School, a Minneapolis Public School. He manages 7-12 grade athletic programs and supervise the coaching staff. His greatest passion is to help others achieve success and reach their full potential by providing leadership, integrity, inclusivity, and a goal-oriented and respectful environment that is intentional in bringing a positive change to their lives.
Throughout Brett's career, he has have successfully demonstrated a firm commitment to empowering young people by instilling self-confidence, reinforcing positive guidance, and fostering a safe environment. These practices have been critical to helping them overcome challenges and become successful members in our communities.
Some of the success stories of those who he has coached include, promotions to head coach status, achieving basketball scholarships, and being drafted into professional sports. Additionally, through his mentoring and leadership, staff under his supervision have become managers, supervisors and directors.
Brett is a recipient of prominent awards such as Mr. Basketball of Minnesota, High School All American, Collegiate All American, Collegiate Hall of Fame, Distinguished Citizenship Award, and Strathmore’s Who’s Who.
